Question Poised by: Mel S., Palm Springs, CA
Carlton, I have practiced forgiveness many times, how do you feel it impacts a person life?
Mel, your question about the act of forgiveness has spanned a period of centuries. It is the most compelling act a person can aspire to do. The circumstances for forgiveness are many. Hurtful words spoken to us from a good friend, acts of betrayal, divorce, law suits regarding financial settlements, last wills, and arguments with a spouse, executive firings, the most grievous are acts of physical harm to some one we cherish and love, child abuse, murder, and the list goes on. During our adulthood we have all had to utilize the act of forgiveness.
Mel, Forgiveness is actually a healing art! It can set us free from the burdens that we have no control over. Going to the heart of the hurtful act, requires time for the feelings and emotions to be set free, in other words, we just must let them go and release them to the universal law of cause and effect. If we do not forgive, the impact will affect our loved ones, family times, friends, persons we associate with in businesses, social affairs, and others we come in contact with.
After truly forgiving, you step into a new situation of feeling renewed, with a terrible load lifted from your heart. A sense of wholeness, harmony and peace come over you. As we heighten personal awareness of this personal power, we are better able to understand and renew our goals and objectives. We again capture the feelings of being free. Every soul longs to be whole and complete, set free from negatives so we any share our dreams and utilize the universal law of abundance in all our affairs and financial matters.
In divine forgiveness, the sprit knows no sin. It is self contained and protected by God’s unconditional love, and therefore we transcend hate and ugliness.
