ARIES — The Ram

(Born March 21 to April 20)

As sun moves into the sign of Aries, a new astrological year begins. Aries, the initial sign of the zodiac represents new birth and typifies spring.

A distinctive trait of Aries people is they are pioneers by nature and initiators of new ways of doing things. They are usually dynamic beings on the move to find out what can be done rather than maintaining the status quo. Boredom can set in quickly if they are trapped into doing largely repetitive tasks which do not interest them. They can find much delight in being first and being out front of the pack.

They embody nature’s thrust to start new growth after the dormancy experienced in winter. Action is central to their lives regardless of gender or age. “Pushy” could be the nickname for many born during this period beginning the latter third of the month of March each year. An Aries without a project is a sick Aries.

Most demonstrate courage as they explore the unknown and unfamiliar as they often work in jobs where few, if any, have gone before, and where there are uncharted ways and approaches. Aries usually begins all projects or anything with considerable confidence. They often demonstrate an immense capacity to overcome setbacks if for no other reason than to keep moving in a direction they wish to go. Symbolized by the ram, they put their heads down and butt their way forward with their horns. They will keep attacking even to the point of breaking something in themselves.

Later they may initiate some refinements after ramming forward, but that sort of thing is usually left to others for the most part. Exploring is central to their lives even if they find themselves in somewhat familiar conventional settings. Underneath all this action is a search for identity. The Aries somehow feels they can find that through activities in which they participate.

Leadership is a natural for many in their endeavors as most have already seized it even before it has been officially recognized as a trait. Aries are out front because they feel that is where all the excitement is and they are drawn to it like a moth to a flame.

The Aries’ brain is the source of their driving power, and they are noted for strength and energy. At times some can be perceived as daredevils. Their relentless “pressing on” usually inspires many to action if merely to keep up with them. They can usually motivate others to get the results they desire if those who listen are open to change and moving on. Their enthusiasm is strong and they attract others who want to be involved with these natural leaders and trail blazers.

The Aries generally will not wait for life to come to them. Impatience is often present in these mental warriors who will take on all sorts of challenges. They compulsively initiate. However, if things do not go their way, they can sometimes get quite moody and confrontational. As a consequence these who represent this dynamic force of the cosmos can be rude, inconsiderate and temperamental at times.

An Aries without a project is probably a sick Aries for they inherently must be pressing on in some direction. They can overcome many obstacles by means of their personal force and at some level still not understand who they are at the core. Ironically, difficulties seem to release more strength in them to meet the challenges they encounter in their searching.

HOW TO SUPPORT AN ARIES

Help them focus that constant stream of energy to progress with a project that excites them. To do so is exhilarating. Often they will keep in motion when their energy would be better spent, for all concerned, if refocused or restrained temporarily. Give them feedback in their chosen endeavors.

It will help if you can encourage them to slow down enough to look thoroughly at issues and examine other points of views. With a more relaxed approach they can lead a better balanced life to “go the distance” rather than be snarled in what may well be minor conflicts of opinion. Not every perceived contest facing an Aries needs to be won even though these warriors intend to do so when they enter these arenas.

Happiness for those born under the sun sign of Aries requires involvement in self expression that brings excitement. These are go-getters who usually can do nothing less even if their need to plunge ahead is not understood by others. They are never down for long when they do find themselves exhausted, disappointed, or frustrated.

TIPS FOR WORKING WITH AN ARIES

Understand Arians are in motion all the time whether discernable to the average person or not. A tolerance for their strong level of activities is imperative if one is to serve or just hang around with them. They are centered within themselves even when their intent is to help others. That posture can become annoying in conversations with them, particularly when exploring emerging strategies they encounter while coping with life’s continuous challenges. In terms of possibilities, talking for an Aries is usually exploring, at least mentally, most of the time. Be willing to repeat often so your commentary and any advice will hopefully be heard.

Warnings are not easily recognized by Aries since they see themselves as conquerors even before they begin their endeavors. Because they can readily tap into personal reservoirs of energy, they feel they have “what it takes” no matter what they are facing.. This can be the case even when rest and recreation would serve them best.

HEALTH MATTERS FOR ARIES

Arians may forget to nurture themselves with a balanced life which will enable them to be “in the hunt” for many more years. At times they will burn up on an endeavor which may or may not be all that significant to their personal growth and individual maturity. Show them possibilities without reservation for in their ramming forward they may not have thought to investigate that direction.

They often do not hear insightful observations and recommendations because they are preoccupied with their own efforts to sustain what they believe is moving forward. They speak in a direct, outspoken manner, such behavior makes them somewhat difficult to support as well as personally frustrating especially after they have solicited your involvement. Therefore advising an Aries may seem fruitless when they don’t seem to hear what is being offered even when repeated often.

Aries people can be exciting company. They readily take responsibility for their actions. That is the case even though they can be seen looking around before they jump off into something with their aggressive conduct. They usually declare what they feel is true and boldly move on. Often their risk taking leads to accomplishments and success even though it is frequently viewed as unusual impatience. Get accustomed to observing bravery with new beginnings if you associate with them much at all.
