Dr. Saul Shaye — Healer & Sports Fan Extraordinaire — Part II

In Search of a True Healer Series
This will be a continuing series about healers I have found, both living and deceased who are the “real deal”.

by Rita Mills

Dr. Shaye is very open about his life and at dinner after that first workshop where I met him, he began to share some of his history. He had been born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and left at the age of 20 shortly after having a motorcycle accident which he was lucky to have survived. There didn’t seem to be anything outstanding about his upbringing except that devastating accident. He shared that he had been a "C" average student at best before the accident, but afterwards he wanted a new beginning so he transferred to Louisiana and started making "B" plus average from that point on. After his recovery he took his health more seriously and continued with his body building even more so to recover from the motorcycle accident—a practice he maintains to this day. He continued his education working on his Masters in vertebrate zoology from Northeast Louisiana University.

In 1973, while Dr. Shaye was working on his doctorate in chiropractic in Iowa, he attended a workshop on psychic diagnosis, with the intention of disproving the technique. To his surprise after attending the workshop, he began to read and diagnose patient problems by sensing energy fields. A couple of years later, he found Edgar Cayce’s book, There Is A River, which convinced him of the existence of spirit.

Spiritual matters began to take precedence over many things in his life and his knowledge of reading energy fields grew with the years. In 1980, through inner guidance, he discovered that he could "channel" energy to treat people chiropractically, without physical contact. He learned from “sensitives” he was channeling a form of spiritual energy which can be seen by some psychics as a golden light flowing from his hands and surrounding the patient's body during diagnosis and treatment. The energy affects the etheric body, which transforms and heals the physical body. Initially Dr. Shaye would only realign the spine with his energy technique—after all he is a chiropractor— but that soon changed and he began to do energy work on other parts of the body.

For the last 18 years he has traveled the United States, the last 11 in his RV—with a menagerie of stuffed animals that ride on his dashboard—setting-up shop and healing people at various churches throughout the United States.

Testing the Waters so to Speak

During dinner that first night I made an appointment to have a treatment with Dr. Shaye and afterwards I talked to him about trying to get some hard evidence to prove his healing ability. Following is some of the documentation compiled from people who have had his healing touch at the Edgar Cayce Center in Houston, Texas.

Louise is probably the most dramatic of the examples that we have. She had been pretty much bedridden for over two years when she had her first treatment—which by the way was over the phone. After that first treatment she got out of bed, walked into the kitchen unassisted and proceeded to fry some catfish—southern girl that she is. Louise continues to improve and has regular phone healings with Dr. Shaye.

Rachel suffered for years from “cervical vertigo” which affected her equilibrium putting her on long-term permanent disability. She was very limited when it came to general movement like standing and bending which we all take for granted. She also had debilitating pain associated with simple movement on top of the balance issues. After one treatment with Dr. Shaye, Rachel’s balance and spinal mobility improved enough that she was able to join a Pilates class. She continues to exercise regularly resulting in weight loss and freedom from excruciating pain.

Stacy had ongoing depression problems along with weight gain from water retention. The first session with Dr. Shaye “was like taking a massive dose of a diuretic, as I spent the majority of the next 3 days in the restroom”. Her depression was substantially improved, but the interesting thing about Stacy’s experience was her ailing cat’s reaction to her. When she got home the cat was all over her purring and pawing her thigh with a kneading motion. The cat began to feel better as well from pulling the healing energy from Stacy.

John had a coughing episode which left him clammy and spent at a group gathering at the Edgar Cayce Center in April, 2011. He had gone through lung surgery a few years back, and you could tell he was in a panic mode as much as physical distress. I was attending the group and as luck would have it Dr. Shaye also happened to be at the center that day. I walked down the hall to see if he might slide John in for a treatment prior to his scheduled appointment that was 3-4 hours away. As the universe would have it, the appointment that was to be next had cancelled, so Dr. Shaye took John immediately in to worked on him. Less than 30 minutes later, John came back to study group and the color had come back into his face, and he was walking with a little spring in his step.

These are just a few of the many people I know who have had visits with Dr. Shaye. He is currently spending more and more time in southeast Texas, doing his work through various churches through the Houston area. You can find out more about Dr. Shaye at his website where there is a phone number which you can call to book a session.
