Carlton, just recently I opened a fortune cookie and it read “Follow the advice of your heart.” What are your belief’s about this?
Jerry,
Our heart is a spiritual broadcasting station to our consciousness mind. When thoughts, intuitions, hunches, warnings, come to us, it is from a much higher power. We have messages coming to us from so many sources each and every day.
It is quite difficult to sort them out, isn’t it? Which ones are meaningful to our daily actions and which ones are not? I believe that the heart of the Universe, the essence of Reality or God, the Living Spirit, is of the essence of pure feeling. It is behind every creative impulse, whether in God or Man.
The power of the subconscious mind will digest intuitions from the great force of mental equivalents. In psychiatry, it is believed that there is a definite, fundamental, irrepressible emotion or feeling behind everything, an urge to flow through things creatively. This is likened to the emotional craving behind all self-expression.
But Jerry, even emotion and feelings are things of thought because they cannot function without consciousness, and the movement of consciousness is thought. So to that end, it is imperative to listen and take heed to the hunches and thoughts, and intuitions which come to you from your heart.
Ernest Holmes tells us that intuition, through which God speaks to us from within, is our greatest facility. As instinct leads animals, intuition can guide us if we allow it.
Intuition, in fact is our creative genius. It is like a flash of lighting that streaks across the mind as intuitive insight, a creative idea, or spiritual guidance for a specific situation in one’s life. Most people disregard these insights from the heart, but a true believer sees the same streak of lighting from the heart as saying:
That’s a great idea. Let me do something with this wisdom or idea which has been given to me.
Once this wisdom is given to you, you react to it almost spontaneously. This is how it gets set into action and goes forth to accomplish what it is you desire. Believe it to be yours and it will be done. See your goal or wish fulfilled. It also takes faith in you that is alive, constantly growing like the branches of a great oak tree. I have experienced that the best way to take care of the future is to take care of what is presently going on in our life at the moment. If we channel our positive energies toward being aware, we might possibly discover the peace, harmony and joy which are already present in our life.
In developing the foundation of faith, Superstition has no place with the truth. Superstition is an invention of humankind to explain so-called miracles which defy our intellectual understanding. Superstition also breeds fear! Because it provides two possible pathways—one which threatens, and one which may protect against adversity. When superstition is abandoned, we are free to follow a pathway of unlimited possibilities. We can then accept the benefits of God’s wondrous acts.
Constant application of listening to one’s Heart is the way to experience wisdom and create results for good health, joy, happiness, abundant living and capturing one’s dreams.
And so it is!
