Wavespell of the Blue Night
June 25 – July 7, 2011
The Wavespell of the Blue Night starts June 25, 2011, with thirteen days to Dream the Abundance and follow our intuition!
When we are attached to our ego’s illusions, we feel we are not worthy of abundance. We limit our possibilities by preventing our dreams from coming true because we are afraid we will never get what we want. On a soul level, we know the Universe is abundant, we do whatever it takes to realize our dreams and we trust we will get what we are looking for.
The Alchemist — Paulo Coelho
In this beautiful and simple fable, Paulo Coelho shares the story of Santiago, a shepherd boy from Andalusia who pursues a recurrent dream of finding a hidden treasure in the Egyptian pyramids.
Although his parents wanted him to become a priest, Santiago’s purpose in life was to travel. He wanted to know the world, to see how people lived in other places and to make new friends. He realized that “it’s the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting.”
On his journey full of new discoveries and lessons, he met with a gypsy woman, an old man that called himself the King of Salem, a thief in Tangiers, a crystal merchant, an Englishman, an Alchemist and Fatima.
Santiago knew there was nothing to hold him back except himself. As he was reminded on several occasions, “When you really want something, the entire universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”
When we are children, everything is clear and possible, we are not afraid to dream. Growing up, many give up on their dreams because they get accustomed to their life as it is or they think they will never be able to achieve what they are looking for. They are afraid they are not worthy of getting what they want, as if they don’t deserve it. They may also worry for others instead of pursuing their own heart’s desires.
Some people know what their dreams are, but they don’t want to realize them. They never make their dream come true and just go through life wanting to do so. They are afraid that if their dream is realized, they would be disappointed or life will make no sense anymore, so they prefer to just continue dreaming about it. They are afraid of change.
There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure.
At the beginning, Santiago was full of enthusiasm, he was following his intuition and he was gaining self-confidence. But, the closer he was getting to realize his dream, the more difficult things became. While pursuing his Personal Legend, he was constantly being exposed to situations that tested his persistence and courage. Santiago learned that, with patience and determination, he was able to see and follow the signs and omens along the way. Everything was beginning to make more and more sense to him.
During the caravan through the desert, Santiago noticed that “no matter how many detours and adjustments it made, the caravan moved toward the same compass point. Once obstacles were overcome, it returned to its course, sighting on a star that indicated the location of the oasis.”
i “Before a dream is realized, the Soul of the World tests everything that was learned along the way. It does this not because it is evil, but so that we can, in addition to realizing our dreams, master the lessons we’ve learned as we’ve moved toward that dream. That’s the point at which most people give up.”
“Listen to your heart. It knows all things, because it came from the Soul of the World, and it will one day return there. Wherever your heart is, that is where you’ll find your treasure.”
Speaking with the desert, with the wind and the sun, Santiago finally understood that everything created in the universe was inside himself, that we were all made by the same hand, and we all had the same soul.
**********
My heart is afraid that it will have to suffer," the boy told the alchemist one night as they looked up at the moonless sky. “Tell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself. And that no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dreams. —The Alchemist
