Wavespell of the Yellow Warrior
July 8-20, 2011

On July 8, 2011 the Wavespell of the Yellow Warrior starts, with thirteen days to get connected with our goals and be fearless!

Our ego is constantly questioning everything out of fear, keeping us trapped in our own confusion and doubts. We seek help hoping somebody or something will have the answers we need. Our soul, instead, is open to receive guidance, asking the right questions and knowing the answers will always come from within.

Way of the Peaceful Warrior — Dan Millman

Dan Millman tells his own story written as a fable, sharing how things changed in his life after meeting Socrates, the name he gave to an old wise man who worked in a Gas Station and guided him in his awakening path.

Although he was a successful athlete in his junior year at the University of California at Berkeley, Dan experienced restless nights and was constantly feeling out of balance. In his journey, Dan had to overcome several obstacles, facing the conflict between light and shadow, conquering his own fears and doubts, making conscious choices and undergoing important changes in his life.

Dan understood that in order to become a peaceful warrior, it was necessary, through life experiences and intentional actions, to integrate mind, body, soul and heart, transforming knowledge into wisdom and putting all lessons learned into practice. By becoming responsible for his own path, he embarked a profound transformational process, awakening to a simple, happy and uncomplicated life.

People live conditioned by their values and fears, resisting what life has to offer and feeling as if everything is a threat. To become a warrior, we need to cleanse our body of tension, free our mind from stagnant beliefs, and have our heart open to loving kindness. “Life is not suffering; it’s just that you will suffer it, rather than enjoy it, until you let go of your mind’s attachments and just go for the ride freely, no matter what happens.”

All the peoples of the world are trapped within the cave of their own minds. Only those few warriors who see the light, who cut free, surrendering everything, can laugh into eternity. It is beyond attainment and beyond fear. Once it happens, you will see that it is obvious, simple, ordinary, awake, and happy. It is only reality, beyond the shadows.

To expand our consciousness and increase our awareness, we need to learn with daily practice, discipline and commitment to free our mind from illusions and get rid of old patterns, focusing all our energy not on struggling with the old, but on building the new.

My world was turning inside out and upside down. I had tried to rejoin the old ways I know, to motivate myself in my studies and training, but nothing made sense anymore… So I drifted, a stranger in a strange land, caught between two worlds without a handhold on either.           —Dan Millman

You haven’t yet opened your heart fully, to life, to each moment. The peaceful warrior’s way is not about invulnerability, but absolute vulnerability—to the world, to life, and to the Presence you felt. Love is the warrior’s sword; wherever it cuts, it gives life, not death. Love is not something to be understood; it can only be lived.”
—Socrates

Learning how to breathe slowly, quiet our mind and connect with silence is the warrior’s art. “The process of real meditation is to expand awareness, to direct attention, to ultimately surrender to the light of consciousness…. Meditation consists of two simultaneous processes: one is insight, paying attention to what is arising, the other is surrender, letting go of attachment to arising thoughts. This is how you cut free of the mind.”

Satori, a Zen concept, occurs when attention rests in the present moment, when the body is alert, sensitive, relaxed, and the emotions are open and free. Satori is the warrior’s state of being.

Walking home, I thought of the changes that were showing up, not so much on the outside, but on the inside. I felt a new clarity about my path and priorities. I had finally released my expectation that the world should fulfill me; with that, my disappointments had vanished. I would continue to do whatever was necessary to live in the everyday world, of course, but with my own conditions. I was starting to glimpse a profound sense of freedom even as I lived an ordinary life.          —Dan Millman

In Lak’esh means “I am another yourself!”, a Mayan greeting that recognizes the Divine in each living Being. It’s a message of Unity that reminds us that, when we give, we are also receiving. In this way, the Mayan honored and respected each other, reinforcing the belief that we are all interconnected: what we do to others and to our environment will also affect ourselves in the end…
