Wavespell of the Red Moon plus Green Castle
July 21 - August 2, 2011
On July 21, 2011 the Wavespell of the Red Moon starts, with thirteen days to get connected with our emotional world and flow in the Universal Waters!
When living attached to our ego’s illusions, we generally repress our feelings, creating toxic emotions that lead to anxiety and stress. Our ego constantly feels stuck in regrets from the past or worries for the future, many times manifesting as unbalances in our bodies until we get sick. On a soul level, we know that as human beings it is important to express our feelings and acknowledge our emotions, but once we allow ourselves to go through the process, we need to let them go, releasing all tension and moving forward in our path.
The Dragon Slayer with a Heavy Heart — Marcia Powers
Marcia Powers shares in this beautiful fable the story of Duke, the Dragon Slayer, and how he gets rid of his heavy heart.
Following his father and grandfather’s steps, and thanks to his bravery and strength, Duke became the most famous and powerful dragon slayer, winning trophies and awards as the best one in those times.
His fame also led him to several disappointments though, when his wife and latter girlfriend left him, and his son confessed he was not interested in becoming a dragon slayer.
Duke’s world turned upside down, he felt everything that was happening to him was awful, terrible and unfair! It shouldn’t have been that way, it was not supposed to happen, this was not what he wanted, and he just couldn’t stand it. He became a victim of his own circumstances, which led him to suffer from a heavy heart, prohibiting him from being as strong as he used to be.
He was furious and frustrated, feeling as if it was all because of other’s fault. The more his mind got cluttered, and he struggled with his own thoughts and emotions, the more the weight in his chest grew impeding him to continue with his life the way it was.
In his last mission, he was feeling so miserable that he suffered an accident and hit bottom. In a moment of despair, he cried for help and his prayers were answered by the Wise One, an owl specializing in broken hearts. To Duke’s surprise and disbelief, Doc, the owl’s nickname, reminded him that “often one’s teachers look different than one might expect, and it is easy to pass them without learning what they have come to teach.”
Doc explained to Duke that the real medicine to heal his heart was through serenity, by recovering his peace of mind. “One cannot receive serenity from someone else, nor can it be bought or attained by demanding it or begging for it. Serenity is a state of being. It is something one must learn how to have,” Doc said.
In spite of his wishes, Duke realized that there were no quick fixes to a heavy heart, but walking the Path of Serenity. Doc introduced him to Maxine, the Bluebird of Happiness, who accompanied him in his journey. “New paths open when one is ready to travel them.”
Willie, the New View Schoolhouse’s teacher, taught Duke the ABC of emotions: A. Adversity: something happens, B. Belief: view, thoughts about what happened and C. Consequences: feelings and actions. What we think leads to what we feel and what we do. Changing our view and having straight thinking free our heart from the emotional prison.
People are disturbed not by things, but by the views they take of them. The more upsetting your thoughts, the more upset you feel, and the heavier your heart gets. If you think whatever happened is the end of the world, it will feel like it is. You are responsible, but not to blame. Blaming yourself will lead to guilt that will only make you more depressed and your heart even heavier – and it won’t do anything to solve your problems.
“Crooked thinking traps hearts and keeps them trapped in an emotional prison of one’s own making.” We are in charge of our own emotions and the way we react; until we don’t become responsible for what we think and feel, we will be a helpless victim.
Learning the laws of the Land of Serenity is easy—what makes it difficult is to live by them. During his journey, Duke realized that fighting his crooked thoughts was harder than fighting dragons.
I invite you to read this book, where you will find many other lessons Duke learned through intense experiences in the Land of Serenity, the Land of Courage, the Leap of Faith, the Moment of Surrender and the Bridge of Change.

Beginning of the Green Castle
The Wavespell of the Red Moon initiates the Green Castle of Transcendence, the fifth and last Castle of this 260-day cycle. We have 52 days to enjoy the fruits of our efforts and take a quantum leap to the next evolutionary phase. Symbolically, the new cycle starts this year on 9/11, the same day as the 10th anniversary of the attacks to the Twin Towers, World Trade Center in New York City.
July 25 — Day out of Time
Monday, July 25, is the Day out of Time based on the 13 Moon Calendar. This year it falls on the energy of the Red Skywalker, the adventurer and explorer. July 25 is considered the Green Day, day of Universal Peace and transition. It’s a day of gatherings, dedicated to ceremonies, artistic expressions and creativity, and it has been celebrated globally since 1992. To know where it is celebrated in your area, you can check it here.
July 25 is also my birthday! I will be celebrating this year in the Sacred Valley in Peru, while receiving the initiation rites in Andean traditions. I look forward to share with you more in future Wavespells.
July 26 — Year of the White Rhythmic Wizard
The New Year, based on the 13 Moon Calendar, starts on July 26 and it falls this year on the energy of the White Wizard… A year to create magic and feel empowered!
Happy New Year!

In Lak’esh means “I am another yourself!”, a Mayan greeting that recognizes the Divine in each living Being. It’s a message of Unity that reminds us that, when we give, we are also receiving. In this way, the Mayan honored and respected each other, reinforcing the belief that we are all interconnected: what we do to others and to our environment will also affect ourselves in the end…
