Mayan Calendar Wavespells — January 6, 2012

Wavespell of the White Mirror
January 6-18, 2012

On January 6, 2012, the Wavespell of the White Mirror starts with thirteen days to discriminate truth from illusion and see what the world is trying to tell us.

If we stand in front of a mirror, we see our image reflected in it. In the same way, our outer world is a reflection of our inner world. Instead of expecting other people or circumstances to be different, the Wavespell of the White Mirror invites us to connect with our feelings, beliefs and value system in order to make the necessary changes to recover balance, wellbeing and peace of mind. True transformation always starts from within!

Ritual of Cutting

When living on an automatic pilot and disconnected from our essence, we create our reality based on our ego’s projections and our inner and outer worlds do not reflect each other in harmony. The White Mirror symbolically represents the sword. Let the White Mirror help you to see the truth so you can cut those illusions that don’t serve to your purpose and growth.

Living in the Light—Shakti Gawain

Shakti Gawain dedicates a whole chapter in her book, Living in the LIght,  to explain how the world serves us as our mirror.

The physical world is our creation; we each create our own version of the world, our particular reality, our unique life experience. We can look at our creation to get feedback about ourselves.

As we create our lives, our experiences are constantly giving us a reflection of ourselves; we can use those external reflections to discover who we truly are. Seeing the world as a mirror and learning how to look into it, perceive and interpret its reflection is a way to bring our unconscious to a conscious level, to learn about those hidden aspects of ourselves that we cannot see directly. Everything that happens in our lives is there for a reason and it has a valuable lesson to teach us.

Any problem we face in our life is a way for the Universe to show us something, to get our attention in order to become aware that a change is needed. We can ignore the signals until the problem gets intensified or we can learn from it and do something about it so we can continue transforming and evolving in our journey.

Shakti Gawain reminds us that, instead of analyzing and thinking about our problems with our rational mind, it is far more effective to turn to our inner self and ask the Universe for help to interpret its meaning.

Simply sit quietly, take a few deep breaths, and focus your awareness within—to the wise being within you who is in touch with the wisdom of the universe. Ask this being, either silently or out loud, for guidance or help in understanding the message. As you tune into your gut feeling and get a sense of what feels right in the moment, act on this feeling. After acting on the feeling, try to be aware of the external and internal feedback from your actions.

Looking inside ourselves and becoming more aware of our feelings help us to recognize how we have projected our inner conflict onto the outside world so we can consciously choose to do something about it.

**********

If you judge and criticize yourself, others will judge and criticize you.
If you lie to yourself, others will lie to you.
If you are irresponsible to yourself, others will be irresponsible in relation to you.
If you respect yourself, others will respect you.
If you trust yourself, others will trust you.
If you are honest with yourself, others will be honest with you.
If you enjoy yourself, others will enjoy you.

In Lak’esh means “I am another yourself!”, a Mayan greeting that recognizes the Divine in each living Being. It’s a message of Unity that reminds us that, when we give, we are also receiving. In this way, the Mayan honored and respected each other, reinforcing the belief that we are all interconnected: what we do to others and to our environment will also affect ourselves in the end…
