Definition of ERA: An important or specific period of time as reckoned from a specific date serving as the basis of its chronological system.
HOUSTON, TX--When the idea for The New Era Times was born the founders—like many new parents—struggled a bit with the name. We went through many variations of monikers before agreeing. The New Era Times seemed right when it finally emerged and the more I contemplate it the more correct it seems to me. We are—collectively as a species—in a new consciousness. This has been coming on for some time and has accelerated since we entered the 21st Century—The New Era.
“May you live in interesting times,” has been purported to be (but never validated)—an ancient Chinese curse. Curse or no we certainly are in the big, fat middle of very interesting times. As such The New Era Times wants to position itself as a forum to help people navigate in these “interesting times”. We are here to help people find their way to a more productive, gracious and joyful life right here on this interesting planet—Earth.
I hear so many people these days wanting to find “purpose” in their life and if you are one of them let me give you an important one—clean up your own backyard. There is only one way to make this shift and that is one individual at a time. Become a more wise, peaceful, loving and generous person every day. Find one way each day to do something better for yourself and, thus, for all of us.
Oneness is not a concept it is reality, and when we injure another we also injure ourselves and the ripple effect is tremendous. Just stop. Think. The energy shift in our collective consciousness is changing the vibrational energy of all of us. This new era is all about the balance between introspection and action. This is the time to look lovingly and yet very carefully in our own mirror and be honest about what we see. It is the time to make wise choices about the cycles we need to break in our family lineages—and also the ones we must continue and improve. This new era is about groups and communities working together—individual efforts will become less and less successful as we move further into this new energy.
All that being said—none of us bringing this new publication into the world have a solid idea of what it will grow to be (just as all new parents do not know what their children will grow to be). We have made a commitment to nurture this new child while allowing it to take on a life of its own.
There are issues I personally would like to see covered. They may or may not emerge but what will come of it will be in our collective and highest good. Of that I have no doubt. There are many topics I hope to see covered, debated and expressed through this publication and I will certainly put my two cents worth in every chance I get! And we want to hear from our readership on direction as well.
One of the major missions of The New Era Times has been, from the beginning, bridging the gap between science and spirit. We want to provide a platform for information about how this is taking place all around us. If the topic is on the edge we will be reporting about it. Here are just a few of the many topics we will be eager to discover and uncover as we delve into our investigative reporting:
We also anticipate a publishing imprint where we will be producing books and ebooks on various topics which align with our mission. So be looking for our first book which will be an interesting look at Dr. Semir “Sam” Osmanagich who recently discovered “the biggest and oldest pyramids on the planet” in his native Bosnia.
In line with publishing we will have a section devoted to books where we will serialize titles of interest to our readership as well as review titles we think have merit. We will also launch a Book Award in 2011 which will bring a tremendous amount of visibility to a deserving author and title. Stay tuned for the details which will be up soon.
There will be an area devoted to the intuitive arts as well as healing modalities of all kinds. These intuitive readers and healers will have been screened thoroughly for their skill set before we will add them to our roster assuring our readers they will be working with the best in their field.
All in all, there will be something for everyone in our repertoire. Thanks for giving us a read, and we hope you will return again and again to look into the various topics which you feel most drawn to.
