Carlton, your book title, You Can’t Get Out of the Blender Until, You Turn It Off, is most intriguing and certain to catch someone’s eye. How did you come by it?
Roy Helen, thank you so very much for asking.
For over thirty years I have been in sales management for very large lighting and home furnishing industry companies. Managing a national and international Sales force has caused me to call upon every resource within my reach to be successful in dealing with people’s lives, their goals, desires, life’s daily questions, and aspirations in their professional careers. I have studied psychology, mental behavior; Type A personality traits, self-esteem, and most all areas of the power of our conscious mind.
Spirituality has been a driving force in my life for a long as I can remember; I was introduced to a new way of thinking through the study Science of Mind. It is pure, and evokes the best in science, religion and philosophy. The law of the mind is a natural law in the spiritual world. God, the universal life force and energy running through everything, is an intelligent presence pervading all space; a self-existent cause; a perfect unit; a complete wholeness, and God’s greater plan for us in this universe.
Roy Helen, please allow me to answer your direction question about the title.
In today’s world, human beings exist and move through their lives for the most part, as best they can, utilizing whatever coping skill available for them to meet daily challenges, obstacles, confrontations, hectic schedules, and all demands that daily life presents. Thousands of people live in a subliminal state of chaos. They wonder at day’s end why their lives are turned upside down and they do not have harmony or peace. Constant racing of thoughts without conclusion brings repeated anxiety that evolves into a downward spiral causing emotional unbalance and leaving mental correspondents in a state of confusion.
I liken it to a blender that is turned on. The whirling motion and activity of what’s inside the blender is the same resemblance of the premises in a person’s life: a constant churning of emotions and upheaval. Like substance inside a blender, our thoughts and emotions are in a constant racing and turning motion until we say “Stop! I need out of here.” We can regroup, put life’s challenges into perspective and take each issue one at a time for successful resolve.
A calm mind will digest and manifest decisions in an orderly manner. Our dominant thought colors every decision that we make. It establishes a mental pattern that consciously finds its expression in every act. Watch the way in which your experiences unfold and you will find a similar color running through all of them. The simplest and most effective method is to stop what you are doing and ask yourself. What is going on here? What are my motivations?
I also suggest that you do not suppress your negative thoughts or emotions; they must be sorted out for self-perseverance. Think of emotions, such as anger and fear, as currents of energy running through you. When you are depressed, that is energy current that people do not like when being around you.
Strength and a new understanding of one’s self is a constant decision to substitute a calm mind and you will immediately change what you are feeling. As you begin to acquire authentic power of choice and align yourself with your soul and not your ego or personality, you begin to experience all the gifts this world has to offer you.
Forgiveness, humbleness, clarity of thought, love and peace of mind will come over you. The end results are that you become an example, a beacon of light for those in your life and social environment.
