Wavespells of the Mayan Calendar

by Mariela Maya

HOUSTON, TX--This is a special message (longer than usual) as lots of things are happening in the next few days…

For those of you who aren’t familiar with my column, I post new information every 2 weeks when a new Wavespell starts. This information is based on the Tzolkin, the Sacred Mayan Calendar. You can also receive this information in Spanish at my website.

Don’t worry if you don’t understand it! The idea is not to get connected with it from the logic, but let the energies flow through you and keep whatever message resonates with you. Maybe you’ll have to read it a couple of times. If you want to learn more about the Tzolkin and the other Mayan calendars, as well as getting acquainted with what I do, I invite you to visit my website which is still under development.

Wavespell of the Red Serpent

On July 22, 2010, the Wavespell of the Red Serpent starts, and we have 13 days to get connected with our instincts and vital force!

The serpent represents a mythological symbol in many cultures. In Mayan mythology, serpents were considered a portal to the spiritual world. The Vision Serpent, the most important of the Maya serpents, served as a direct link between the Spirit realm of the gods and the physical world. Even the main pyramid in Chichen Itza is called the Temple of Kukulkan, the Mayan name for Quetzalcoatl, meaning the "feathered serpent".

Through the shedding of their skin, serpents became a symbol of rebirth, re-generation and renewal. The Serpent represents vitality and life force, the instinct of survival, the foundation of our desires and motivations.

In the days of the Red Serpent, we are asked to listen to our inner voice and act from our gut feelings. The Red Serpent is also related to health, sexuality and seduction. It is very passionate and strong-minded. The Red Serpent is attentive and analytical and it may choose to be solitary and detached from mundane circumstances.

As a friend of mine told me the other day, “Passion is an unlimited source of energy!” This is a very powerful message to take into consideration for these days.

Blue Castle

The Wavespell of the Red Serpent initiates the Blue Castle of Burning. The Blue Castle is the second castle (out of 5 in the Tzolkin cycle of 260 days). For the next 52 days, this is a time of chaos and transformation. I know what you are thinking right now. More chaos? Oh nooooo!!!

When we live attached to our illusions created by our own ego, we give a negative connotation to chaos associating it with crisis, as if something bad will happen to us. Remember that crisis in Chinese is composed by two elements: danger and opportunity. When live from our soul, so we always see chaos as an opportunity for growth and transformation!

Galactic Activation Portals

The Blue Castle is known as the castle of ‘Burning’ because it contains the two intense columns of 10 consecutive GAP days. Galactic Activation Portals (GAP) are days when we get higher frequencies and intensity.

Although they may sound like “messy days,” in reality they are special days that serve as portals to receive cosmic wisdom. Here again, if we live from our ego, it will be a mess! If we connect to our true self, those days will help us be more conscious of our journey and accelerate our process of transformation.

The first column starts on the second day of the Wavespell of the Red Serpent, and it goes from July 23 to August 1, 2010.

The second column starts on the third day of the Wavespell of the Yellow Seed, and it goes from September 1-10, 2010. I will share with you more about this Wavespell when it starts a little over a month from now.

Mystic Column—Core Days

The Mystic Column is in the center of the Tzolkin cycle and it contains the Core Days, a 20-day period for attunement. This column symbolically represents our spine, which keeps us straight, aligned and centered. In those days, the energy is focused in the here and now. We are invited to be present, to go within, to rest and to take care of ourselves.

Although this column is also very intense, it gives us “a little break to breath” in between the two GAP columns. This column goes from August 7-26, 2010.

Harmonic Module

The Harmonic Module is the matrix containing the 260 days of the Tzolkin cycle. If you are interested in learning more, you can find more information on my website.

Year of the Red Moon

The New Year based on the 13-Moon Calendar starts on July 26 and it falls under the energy of the Red Moon.

Now that we are about to end the Year of the Yellow Seed, where we have been planting our seeds (dreams, projects, ideas) with clear intentions for them to flower from the Spirit, from July 26, 2010 until July 24, 2011 it will be the time to get connected with our emotional world, to flow in the universal waters of our feelings.

Day Out of Time

The year of the 13-Moon Calendar goes from July 26 to July 24 (every year). July 25 is considered the “Day Out of Time,” a special day dedicated to ceremonies, artistic expressions and creativity.

As shared with you in one of my previous messages, I just let go the corporate world, after 21 years, to fully dedicate my time to my life purpose. These months are very intense for me as I am still in the transition of releasing the old and creating the new which is yet to come. Also, this Sunday (July 25), I am turning 40! I learned I was born on the “Day Out of Time” 11 years ago, when I first got acquainted with the Mayan Calendar. And, since 1999, I have never stopped learning and following it!

For this particular reason, and considering that my birthday falls in the first GAP Days column under the Wavespell of the Red Serpent, beginning of the Blue Castle, I have decided to listen to my inner voice, to take it easy and to be ready to host a nice celebration next year!

I wish you the wisdom to stay focused in the middle of the chaos and to take good care of your health and energy levels in the next couple of months.

HAPPY NEW YEAR OF THE RED MOON—feeling it from your Heart!

In Lak’esh,

In Lak’esh means “I am another yourself!” a Mayan greeting that recognizes the divine in each living being. It’s a message of unity that reminds us that, when we give, we are also receiving. In this way, the Mayan honored and respected each other, reinforcing the belief that we are all interconnected: what we do to others and to our environment will also affect ourselves in the end.
