Heather Langlais

Heather Langlais started writing freelance for local papers and magazines when she lived in British Columbia, Canada.  She and her family moved to Houston in 1999 where she marketed her first young adult fiction novel

With her numerous, mind opening travels around the world to such places as Paris France, the Caribbean, and Ireland, Heather’s interest got especially piqued by the Mayan civilization on her visits to Mexico. This became the setting for her aforementioned novel. She wrote this book, also in response to her life situation of moving 12 times in 9 years to follow her wonderful husband’s career and to help her kids cope with so many re-locations.  Heather used her degree in Child Psychology not only to raise her children and analyze her friends, but also weave through her book the message of self-empowerment.  She disguised this “self help” notion in an adventure novel with heroic characters that kids could relate to and suggested a “bloom where you’re planted” attitude.”  Heather also teaches Pre-school part time, works part time at an insurance office, tutors children with various developmental delays, and volunteers at a senior assisted living home.

My sense of purpose on this earth has always been clear to me to serve the success and happiness of others.

Her proudest life’s accomplishments have been to raise two beautiful, successful, intelligent and well adjusted adult daughters.

Being a true to form Pisces, Heather has always been cosmically curious and dabbles in spirituality and holistic living.  She also believes she must be a new soul as she has never experienced a déjà vu.  She has yet to find a similar soul in that department. Are you out there?

“The World of Energy Healing” is her first submission toThe New Era Times, and hopefully not her last!  Heather welcomes communication by email.
