My heritage is Southern Baptist. But it was in a Roman Catholic Church, in the fall of 1958, a few months after my twelfth birthday, that I was left undone by an “ecstatic” experience or what was "surely an allergic reaction to something, perhaps to the incense." It was a split second in my sixty-four years, yet the man I've become, and all that I've done in my professional life—Episcopal priest, speaker and trainer, management consultant, writer—can be traced back to that moment which, these five decades later, remains a mystery.
I hold master’s degrees from Virginia Seminary (Episcopal) and Bennington College Writing Seminars, served parishes in Texas and California, was a speaker and trainer for More to Life in the US, Great Britain, and South Africa, and a management consultant. My book, Original Sinners, A New Interpretation of Genesis, was published by Free Press/Simon & Schuster in November, 2009.
